Welcome Columbus Dispatch Readers!

Thanks for taking the time to check out our site.  Please note that, in addition to the individual blog posts that comprise the bulk of this site, at the top of this page there are links to a map of the taco trucks, a list of all taco trucks we’ve encountered, and a list of translated names with explanations for the ingredients and offerings that the taco trucks provide.

For those of you who arrived here from somewhere other than the Dispatch, the above is referring to an article and video the Dispatch has published about our site and taco trucks in general.  Look here for the article, and here for the video.

Finally, to Robin, Kevin, Eric, and everyone at the Dispatch, Dispatch Kitchen, and 10TV News who was involved in this coverage – THANKS!  We’ve enjoyed our time with each and every one of you, and are thrilled with the results.  Due to your coverage, our site has received an unprecedented number of hits – we couldn’t be happier with what that hopefully means for the taco truck operators in our city.

By the way, we should also mention that there’s a podcast interview with the three of us over at Columbus Foodcast.  If you’re not at the point of taco truck overload, go check it out!

Edit:  The taco truck spot that was broadcast on 10TV today can be seen here.

Bertha, this TT thing is taking on a life of its own!

  2. Good article. And remember, there’s a nationwide map too – yumtacos.com – and we’d love it if you’d add all your trucks!

Too bad about all the racist and bigoted comments on the Dispatch site. Is Columbus really like that?

TTC Comment: (CMH Gourmand) – The comments you mention are not a reflection of Columbus as a whole. We are a diverse community and there is a growing taco truck community and supporters.

Moe, thanks for the invite, we’ll get onto that once all of the work related to the current PR dies down. Might you want to link to our site as well?

Regarding the Dispatch comments – no, that’s not necessarily representative of Columbus. The comments section there has been very disappointing to me on more than a few occasions, and trolling doesn’t seem to be monitored. It certainly doesn’t reflect the attitudes of the people I encounter on a day-to-day basis around here. TTC has been very popular, which suggests that there are plenty of people around town whose attitudes towards the taco truck operators are *much* more receptive and welcoming.

Wow! What a wonderful idea. I had no clue that there were so many Taco Truck out there but I absolutely love Mexican food and will certainly have to try some! Keep it up!

No facebook fan club for tacotruckscolumbus? Seems like you’re missing out on a way to spread the word.

Cool idea! I am shocked at the number of taco trucks! I will have to keep my eyes peeled nowadays. I just got back from Atlanta where I went to a cool little place called Taqueria del Sol…but no taco trucks!
